The purpose of the MRVPD is to “carry out a program of planning for the future of the Mad River Valley. The planning program shall be directed toward the physical, social, economic, fiscal, environmental, cultural and aesthetic well being of the member Towns and its inhabitants” (MRVPD Articles of Agreement, 1985).

MRVPD’s work focuses on providing planning and technical assistance services to its member towns (Warren, Waitsfield & Fayston) to enhance well-being among all communities, build capacity, and ensure that the towns evolve in ways that meet their defined needs and goals.
