Green Mountain Transit’s (GMT) 2023–2024 seasonal service of the Mad River Valley Mad Bus will begin on December 22nd, 2023! In preparation for its return, GMT shared a recent announcement regarding updates to the service with local partners and area businesses in the Mad River Valley. Within its recent update, GMT highlights several exciting new developments, such as a new bus stop located at Madbush Falls, additional service during select dates, and links to its most up-to-date schedules and guide maps. Here is what you need to know.
SERVICE OVERVIEW
The current service plan for the 2023–2024 ski season is as follows:
Rt. 120 Valley Floor
- 60-minute service will operate Sunday-Monday from 7:20 AM to 7:20 PM, with the last trip departing Lincoln Peak to Waitsfield at 7:00 PM.
- 60-minute service will operate on Saturdays & select dates throughout the season from 7:20 AM to 9:20 PM, with the last trip departing Lincoln Peak to Waitsfield at 9:00 PM.
Rt. 122 Mt. Ellen
- 30-minute service will operate daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the last trip departing Lincoln Peak to Mount Ellen at 4:30 PM.
Rt. 124 Mt. Condos
- 40-minute service will operate Monday–Friday from 8:20 AM to 5:00 PM.
- 20-minute service will operate on weekends & holidays from 8:00 AM to 5:20 PM.
Rt. 125 Access Rd.
- 40-minute service will operate Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:20 PM.
- 20-minute service will operate on weekends & holidays from 8:00 AM to 5:20 PM.

As a final note, GMT recommends passengers utilize the application Transit whenever possible, as it allows passengers to plan trips, view future schedules, and see the Mad Bus in real-time.
